SAN JOSÉ, CA -- It is time for all the mariachi music lovers in San José to hear Mariachi music in its theaters again. And in a unique program this year and for one day only (November 29) they will have the opportunity to listen to the best interpretations of mariachi's music at the HAMMER THEATRE CENTER, here in the city, during Grammy-Nominee JOSÉ HERNANDEZ program, with music interpreted in the instruments and sang in the voices of the World-renowned MARIACHI SOL De MEXICO® featuring everyone's favorite American and Latin Christmas songs in "A MERRY-ACHI CHRISTMAS" as the concert is called. For those of you unfamiliar with the group, MARIACHI SOL DE MEXICO® was the group that this year accompanied three generation of the FERNANDEZ FAMILY : VICENTE, ALEJANDRO and his son ALEX singing Volver Volver at the 20the Annual Latin Grammy Awards, where the three FERNANDEZ father, son and grandson, sang together for the first time. Also this year, they will be accompanying ANA BARBARA singing the Mexican Nation Anthem at the NFL Exhibition Game at the AZTEC STADIUM in Mexico City and Play at the New Year celebration in Times Square, in New York City. "We are excited to bring our annual Holiday tradition of Christmas music and cheer to the Audience in San José, " Says Maestro HERNANDEZ. "We are delighted to bring a great program of joyful music to celebrate the Holiday season. A MERRY-ACHI CHRISTMAS is an evening for families, parents and children and you don't have to speak Spanish to enjoy the music and be part of this celebration. ABOUT JOSÉ HERNÁNDEZ AND HIS MARIACHI SOL DE MÉXICO JOSE HERNÁNDEZ is a world-renowned musician, composer and music educator who continues to break new ground in the world of mariachi music. He is also the founder of the world-famous MARIACHI SOL DE MEXICO® and America's first all-female mariachi ensemble MARIACHI REYNA DE LOS ANGELES®. In Addition to leading two mariachis, Maestro HERNÁNDEZ works tirelessly to inspire and empower the next generation of musicians through the education initiatives he has founded: The José Hernàndez ' Mariachi Nationals and Summer Institute®, A Mariachi music Summer Intensive and competition which brings together some of the country's top student mariachi ensembles and the Mariage Heritage Society which teaches mariachi music and folk dancing to new generations. Maestro HERNÁNDEZ, is also the Musical Director of many prestigious mariachi festivals and conferences around the world. The Maestro, also continues to advance the art of mariachi music with daring new compositions and arrangements. He has arranged and composed music for all sixteen MARIACHI SOL DE MEXICO's albums. He sings and plays trumpet, violin, guitarrón, and vihuela. He has performed in prestigious venues around the world and recorded with some of the most respected names in the music industry including SELENA, VICENTE FERNÁNDEZ, LOLA BELTRÁN, JUAN GABRIEL, LUIS MIGUEL, BRYAN ADAMS and THE BEACH BOYS.
